Thu Apr 2nd 2009: Envirovalve News
ATG Services (Ireland) Ltd has commenced an installation programme of 72 Envirovalves to a major fuel/oil distribution company based in the Republic of Ireland.
The role of the Envirovalve is to provide peace of mind during bulk Ethanol fuel additive transfers, i.e. if a spill occurs the Envirovalve is activated to prevent the Ethanol heading to local storm water drains. This is necessary because the interceptors used for usual oil/water separation are ineffective with Ethanol.
ATG Services (Ireland) Ltd have also installed an Envirovalve for Spanboard Products in Coleraine. The Envirovalve is located on their final discharge to the River Bann and is coupled with an Oil on Water Sensor to provide complete protection in the event of an oil spill at the plant. The equipment plays a key role in satisfying the requirements of the IPC licence that they hold.
We are currently providing a proposal for another major cross border oil distributor for automated Envirovalves across 11 sites throughout Ireland. The majority of these sites are unmanned and are monitored from a remote location. The Envirovalve and its associated pollution monitoring equipment will provide automatic sealing of drains and 24/7 alarm cover to key personnel within the organisation.
